Does Curcumin slow cancer growth? Here’s what you need to know about the true power of Curcumin.

Curcumin, the principal curcuminoid of turmeric, a member of the ginger family, is a top-notch healthy substance that is found in the spice turmeric. The research is ongoing for curcumin's recommendation on prevention or treatment of cancer and at the moment, there isn't enough evidence to confirm the same.

To treat a variety of illnesses, Curcumin has long been used in Asian medicine and at present, some research recently suggested that it may help in prevention or to treat cancer.

Curcumin is equipped with antioxidant properties, which means that it may decrease inflammation and swelling. The reason curcumin is being explored as a cancer treatment is that inflammation in part plays a role in cancer.

In the prevention of cancer, slowing the spread of cancer, making the chemotherapy more effective and protecting healthy cells from damage by radiation therapy, laboratory and animal research suggest curcumin might be that one genuine substance.

Deep studies and research of curcumin in people are still in the early stages along with clinical trials being underway to investigate curcumin as a way to prevent cancer in people with precancerous conditions, and as a remedy for signs and symptoms caused by cancer treatments.

Due to enough lack of evidence and research still in process, curcumin is still not advisable at this time but we suggest you always talk with your doctor before opting for any herbal supplement, including curcumin as it's known to interfere with certain chemotherapy medications.
